I made a great mixed tape for the drive down. I'm sure that my brother will do his little sneer and raised eyebrows and my sisterinlaw probably won't even listen. It's not that they are bad people or are idiots: i just get so selfconcious when i offer to play dj for a car ride.

The driver should always have tunes prepared.

Nick and I were talking about driving in the desert listening to all the modestmouse albums: that trip would have worked about three years ago when i felt a little drawn out and overused.

but now, i just want to stay in this little apartment with my kitchen-in-a-box and my unused patio with a view of the guy in the apartment on the other side--he looks like a putz, and his decor suggests it too, but i saw him in his towel and YOWSA! i'll forgive him poor decoration selections. I mean, i shouldn't be spying anyhow.

So a weekend of pampering by my parents and a weekend away from my beloved.

I fell asleep during Robbery Homicide Division. If you haven't, you should watch the show while its still on. It's a bit bold in its cleverness, which some people may not like, but Tom Seizmore is very good. But you don't have to take my word for it (dada DA!).
