Anyone been watching Godiva? The restaurant show that puts the CAN in CANCON. I’ve watched three episodes, and I’m really, REALLY trying to like it. But I feel that I’m trying as hard to like as it’s trying to be bold and hip – I get it, Vancouver is HIP and the rest of us are not!

There’s hot/cold sexy main chef, ambiguously guy sous chef, cool-guy saucier, hippy pastry gal and Chinese dish washer. Out front we have spunky hostess, sassy bartender and gay, gay, GAY waiter! He’s like a buffet of gayness giving you more than your money’s worth!

The plots are lukewarm but I have this sick kitchen obsession where I love watching anything being cooked, or prospect of something being cooked shown on television.

Ah well, I’ll still watch it because it has all those hipsters who can somehow afford to eat in fancy, upscale restaurants and also because there’s not much else on Wednesday’s at 11:00.
